Barkly Belle

This was the other International K5 with the same setup, 4Lk Gardner, very economical and cool running, used on the Tennant Creek to Mt Isa, Queensland run across the Barkley tablelands, the most boring road in Australia!

Comments:
Ron, any ideas why the back door window angled down like that? Was it an emergency exit or additional storage for cases, etc?

About the same time our local service in West Auckland (NZ) was provided by a fleet of Bedford buses operated by the Auckland Bus Company, ABC for short. They had a sort of orange roof, with green and yellow body work. They were not as flash as yours above, they were sort of rounded like a tin can and pointed at the back. Bill and Bob were the only drivers on the route, I can't remember them ever having a day off but I guess they did some time. No.3 and No.4 were the bus numbers! The drivers were true gentlemen.
