to right Andrew when I worked at johnsons all there fleet were bova and the mannual ones you use to have to count to 5 as you changed gear so the cable could work its way over. Happy days the drivers that pass there test today with auto's have got it easy and I don't mean that in a nasty way its just years ago when you got out of a coach you knew you had drivin it as it needed drivin not like now where you put it in drive and thats it.
Bova used to offer Daf and Mercedes engines on the original Bova Futura. After the first major body revamp this was changed to DAF and MAN. Since Bova now is a part of VDL Bus, the producers of DAF bus chassis and engines, the main engine is DAF (or Paccar as it is called on certain markets, Paccar is an American company producing Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks and owner of DAF Trucks). On certain export markets Bova still offers MAN engines. The product range: Futura (more than 100.000 produced), the Magiq, a top of the range coach, the Lexio, actually a Jonckheere product marketed on the German market as a so called 'doppelverdiener' and the Synergy, a double decker produced by VDL Berkhof. VDL Bova has its factory in Valkenswaard Holland.
