Ford 'A' series (HPY318N) Cleveland Transit. This vehicle was new in 1975 as one of a pair (HPY317/8N) which were purchased by Cleveland Transit for developing town services in the Market Town of Guisbrough. They have Northern Counties DP21F bodywork, and this pair were the first post war forward control vehicles to be bodied by Northern Counties. However by the time of this picture (in March 1988)this vehicle (and its sister)were out of use. They were sold to Lancaster City Transport for use in the seaside Town of Morcambe.
Both however are now long gone, one returned to the North East with an independant operator in County Durham, whilst the other (this one)is a mobile home in Cornwall somewhere. 318 is seen amongst Cleveland Transit Leyland Fleetlines in the compound at Stockton Depot in March 1988.
